Therapy is not one size fits all and it is not a one person show. We focus on collaborating with clients and families to identify and work towards their goals. We believe that overall wellness must include a focus on both mental and physical health as they are intertwined. We are trained and experienced in psychotherapy as well as using behavioral health interventions to help with chronic health management. Sessions are compassionate and genuine. It is essential that sessions are a place where clients can feel comfortable discussing even the most sensitive of topics in a judgment free space. The goal is to help clients revive and thrive!

Various approaches utilized depending on the needs and preferences of each client or family. We collaborate with our clients and families to identify what evidence-based interventions and treatment modalities would be best in achieving their treatment goals. Some common interventions include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing (MI), Psychodynamic Therapy, Trauma Focused, Solution-Focused Therapy, Strengths Based Approach, Family Systems Therapy, Person Centered Therapy, Art Therapy, Play Therapy, and Interpersonal Therapy.

Our therapist is a Columbia University graduate, but the best education has been the 17+ years of experience working with clients and families. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in New Jersey, our therapist has worked with various populations addressing various concerns including: life stressors and transitions, grief/loss, Depression, Anxiety, ADHD, Trauma/PTSD, managing chronic illness, Bipolar Disorder and more. In addition to working directly with clients, we are certified to provide clinical supervision to therapists who are not yet fully licensed

Individual therapy, also known as psychotherapy or counseling, is a form of therapy in which a person works one-on-one with a licensed therapist. It is a collaborative process aimed at fostering mental health, personal growth, emotional resilience and overall well-being. Individual therapy provides a supportive space to process your thoughts, feelings, experiences and behaviors. It can be a transformative experience, helping people gain insight, feel supported, provide catharsis, develop coping strategies, learn new skills and problem-solving strategies, and make positive changes in their lives. Incorporating family therapy sessions into an individual therapy can also be a powerful support to achieving your individual therapy goals.
The initial phase involves understanding the client's history, current issues, as well as treatment goals. This may include discussing past experiences, current life circumstances, and any symptoms or problems the client is experiencing. Based on the assessment, the therapist develops a personalized treatment plan. Various therapeutic techniques and interventions may be used, depending on the client’s needs and preferences.
Therapy is different than going to your medical doctor in that it requires more than the occasional appointment. It requires regular and consistent sessions to create a positive therapeutic relationship, to appropriately address the situation, and to build on the momentum from session to session. Challenging yourself to try something new or nearing the core of the issue can be uncomfortable at times.
Overall, individual therapy is a valuable tool to gift yourself as the ultimate self-care experience and quality of life enhancer.

Families can provide us with an amazing foundation and with the most nurturing forms of love. As is to be expected in any family, there will be some conflict as we won’t always agree. It can also be difficult to sustain a healthy and happy family life when going through a stressful event or crisis together. When the challenges within the family become excessive or difficult to manage, you may want to consider family therapy. Family therapy helps build a strong foundation for healthy attachments. These attachments have an enduring impact on a child's physical, psychological, behavioral, and developmental well-being, as well as their future relationships. A combination of individual therapy and family therapy may be needed if appropriate.
Family therapy is a form of psychotherapy that views the family as an interconnected system with its own structure, dynamics, and patterns of communication. The emphasis is on how each family member's behavior and emotions are interconnected and how they influence one another. Issues affecting one family member can impact the entire family system. Instead of focusing solely on individual members, family therapy considers the family as a whole and aims to create a supportive environment where families can identify specific goals that are meaningful and relevant to their unique circumstances. This may include addressing and working on the following:
- Improving your family's communication by learning new communication skills, exploring communication breakdowns, identifying patterns of communication which may be dysfunctional, and learning to communicate our needs effectively.
- Resolving conflicts in a constructive manner within the family by learning conflict resolution skills and problem-solving skills.
- Managing how your family navigates life transitions and life stressors by exploring challenges and developing effective coping strategies.
- Strengthening relationships by providing a supportive space for families to express emotions, make sure everyone in the family gets heard, helps foster empathy and understanding of each other.
- Developing healthier ways of interacting by creating healthy boundaries, modifying dysfunctional behavior, adjusting family roles to promote healthier interactions and overcome codependency.
- Empowering you in the challenges of parenting by discovering new skills and tools, enhancing parenting techniques, and learning how to best support your child’s needs and struggles.
